Miyuki
The history

The history of Miyuki dates back to Japan’s rich tradition of glass bead manufacturing. Founded in 1949 in Hiroshima, Japan, by Masayoshi Katsuoka, the brand has become a global leader in producing high-quality beads.

One of its most significant milestones was the creation of Delica beads in the 1980s. Their cylindrical shape and precise craftsmanship revolutionized bead weaving, allowing artisans to create more intricate and sophisticated designs.

What is
the Miyuki technique?

The Miyuki technique is a traditional Japanese art that focuses on the use of high-quality glass beads to create intricate, meticulous, and detailed designs. Miyuki is renowned for producing some of the finest and most uniform glass beads in the world, making them the ideal choice for crafting high-quality jewelry.

In this technique, the beads are carefully strung onto threads to form unique patterns and designs. There are various weaving methods used in the Miyuki technique, such as peyote, brick stitch, and cross-stitch, each with its own characteristics and finishes, allowing artisans to create pieces with exceptional precision and artisanal beauty.
